Rising Sun is returning to Central Park with Jason Tyne’s Edgy and Modern day Adaptation of Aristophanes' bawdy anti-war classic. Like you would expect of any self-respecting New York chick, Lucy "The Loosener" Lysistrata is totally over the Georges and Bills of Capital Hill and their testosterone fuelled war on terror. She and her suffering sisterhood across the world are sick of the never-ending succession of wars being fought throughout the globe for the usual, lame, territorial excuses masquerading as moral high ground. The reality is that there is constant slaughter abroad, constant hardship on the home front, and their husbands are the ones responsible. Under the leadership of Lucy the Loosener, the spunkiest woman in the world, they all decide to take matters into their own hands. They capture the US Treasury and declare that they will not have sex with their men or release any funds from America until peace is negotiated. The men, however, don't take this lying down. The lines are drawn. Battle has begun.... A modern show of ineundos and poignant farce.
