New Editor for IT Awards Update

In September, our dear friend and staff member, Emily Sandack moved to Los Angeles to pursue the next step in her career.  We wish her lots of success and adventure and we will certainly miss her.

Emily's departure left the spot of Editor of this Update open and when thinking of who might be able to take up the mantle, the first choice was obvious.  Doug Strassler has written many articles for the Update, acts as an At-Large judge for the IT Awards and serves on the Outstanding Stage Manager Committee.  His dedication to the Off-Off-Broadway community is evident by the shear number of reviews he writes or our productions each year.  We are so honored to have him as a part of our team.

Doug will begin his duties with the November Update. We know he will help us progress and enhance the monthly Update and our organization.

Please join us in welcoming Doug on board.

AFFECTING OFF-OFF-BROADWAY

Artists Need to be Counted in US Census
The United States Department of Commerce will be conducting the 2010 Census, which will find out how many people live in New York City, how many elected representatives we will have in Congress, determine who will represent you in the City Council and in the New York State Legislature, determine how much funding we will receive from the federal government for education, healthcare, job training, transportation, senior services, and other critical services important to all New Yorkers.

New York City artists need to participate to ensure that we get our fair share of funding from the federal government.

Take a moment now to complete the Census form.

For details about these and other important activities affecting OOB and to see how you can help and get involved,  check out the Community Corner.

 Blog-gy Wag-gy Doodle All o'Day

Did you take the 2010 US Census? Why is it important for OOB Artists to be counted? Do you qualify for the NYC entrepreneurial development for the arts projects? What did you do for national Arts and Humanities Month?

We're talking about it on our Staff Blog!

We regularly post personal entries and updates on both Blogspot and Twitter. You can also keep up with us on Facebook and MySpace. Those of you who are already familiar and comfortable with RSS feeds are welcome to subscribe or follow us on either format.

TADA Theatre is located at 15 West 28th Street, 2nd floor (between Broadway & 5th Ave -- accessible from the the R/W train at 28th Street and F train at 23rd Street).
